The lamp represents our mind — the vessel of thoughts, desires, and emotions.

When winds of desire, fear, or attachment blow, the lamp’s light wavers.

A restless mind reflects distorted reality — like a shaking mirror showing a trembling world.

The same mind, when purified through meditation, devotion, and discipline (abhyāsa and vairāgya), becomes still — and begins to reflect the light of the spirit clearly.

Krishna reminds Arjuna in Gita 6.26:

ā€œYato yato niścarati manaś caƱcalam asthiram,
tatas tato niyamyaitad ātmany eva vaśaṁ nayet.ā€
— ā€œWhenever the restless mind wanders, bring it back under the control of the Self.ā€
